KEEP WORKERS SAFE — GET REGULAR FORKLIFT TRAINING
Are all your forklift operators up-to-date on their safety training?
"Each year, tens of thousands of injuries related to powered industrial trucks (PIT), or forklifts, occur in US workplaces. Many employees are injured when lift trucks are inadvertently driven off loading docks, lifts fall between docks and an unsecured trailer, they are struck by a lift truck, or when they fall while on elevated pallets and tines."
"Most incidents also involve property damage, including damage to overhead sprinklers, racking, pipes, walls, and machinery. Unfortunately, most employee injuries and property damage can be attributed to lack of safe operating procedures, lack of safety-rule enforcement, and insufficient or inadequate training."
The above quote comes directly from The U.S. Department of Labor's OSHA website. OSHA standards hold employers responsible for providing their forklift operators with proper safety training. OSHA can impose fines of $7,000 to $70,000 per safety violation if training lapses.
Avoid fines—and more importantly, keep your workers safe—with Safety Training from Cromer.
2024 Class Schedule
Each course offers classroom instruction, hands-on evaluation, and a written exam. Individual certificates and wallet cards are issued after each course's successful completion.
New Operator Training
This class is for those with little to no experience who want to learn how to drive a lift truck. Students receive hands-on training on how to operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently under supervision in an area that does not endanger the trainee or others. Classroom instruction and a written test are included. Students who demonstrate sufficient operating ability will receive a certificate of completion and a “restricted” wallet card.
Due to the current OSHA standards, we only offer forklift operator training for companies. We don’t offer forklift training to individuals outside of a company setting. OSHA requires site and equipment-specific training and also requires all hands-on evaluations to be conducted at the customer site on their equipment. It is not possible for us to provide training for individuals looking to learn how to drive a forklift at this time.
